
Wrestling Picks Up 10th Win at Hofstra

Hempstead, N.Y. — The NC State wrestling team (10-2), added its 10th victory of the season with a dominant 43-5 win over Hofstra on Sunday afternoon.
The Wolfpack extended the series lead to 4-2 over the Pride, posting the most team points in history; previously 37 in 2020.
197 (NC State 4, Hofstra 0)
Brock Delsignore and Nikolas Miller started off the day for the Wolfpack and Pride matchup. Delsignore was already leading 12-8 by the end of the second period. Miller made several attempts for takedowns in the third period but they were defended them off and held riding time to start the day with a win.
285 (NC State 8, Hofstra 0)
16th-ranked Owen Trephan had the only ranked bout of the day when he took on No. 25 Keaton Kluever. The first take down was landed 40 seconds in and then Trephan selected bottom to start the second to earn an escape right away and be up 4-0 halfway through the bout. He was able to add over two minutes of riding time and another take down in the third to walk away with his major decision.
125 (NC State 12, Hofstra 0)
Jarrett Trombley put up a scrappy fight against Dylan Acevedo that remained scoreless through the first two periods. Starting the down position nearly handed a one point escape to Trombley to give him an edge. In the final minute he secured a three point take down and four point near fall to record another win for the Pack.

Hofstra forfeited the bout to sophomore, Jacob Cox.
141 (NC State 23, Hofstra 0)
Fourth-ranked Ryan Jack picked up his second win of the weekend by gaining a technical fall over Alex Turley in the third period. By the end of the first period Jack had already held a 14-3 lead and over two minutes of riding time.
149 (NC State 23, Hofstra 5)
Freshman, Trevor Kantor entered the lineup for his first dual-match with the Wolfpack. Unfortunately, he suffered a loss from Hofstra's Noah Tapia who collected several takedowns, riding time, and a four point near fall over Kantor.
157 (NC State 29, Hofstra 5)
Fifth-ranked Ed Scott dominated his opponent and pinned Jurius Clark at the 1:29 mark.
165 (NC State 34, Hofstra 5)
Derek Fields, ranked 21st in the country, re-entered the lineup and faced Matt Rogers. The first period brought Fields over two and a half minutes of riding time and he was able to pick up numerous takedowns throughout the first and second period to land a technical fall before entering the third period.
174 (NC State 39, Hofstra 5)
The team veteran and captain, Alex Faison acquired a 15-4 lead by the end of the first over Eric Shindel. His technical fall over his opponent came quickly in the second period.
184 (NC State 43, Hofstra 5)
Dylan Reinert cleaned up for the Pack with another major decision to close the day. Headed into the second period he held a 3-1 edge with nearly a minute of riding time that grew throughout that period. Reinert tallied the final victory of the day over Hofstra's Will Conlon.
