#5 NC State Welcomes Illinois State to Raleigh for Sold Out Sunday Game

RALEIGH – NC State women's basketball kicks off its December slate of games with a non-conference matchup against Illinois State at home on Sunday.
Tip-off between the fifth-ranked Wolfpack (8-0) and the Redbirds (6-1) is set for 2 p.m. from Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. Doors open at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ACCNX, and live radio coverage will also be available on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh and on the GoPack and Varsity Network apps.
Tickets for the matchup are sold out, but fans interested in attending can check SeatGeek, the official fan-to-fan marketplace of the Wolfpack.
ALUMNI REUNION
2023-24 marks the 50th season of NC State women's basketball as a varsity sport, and the program will welcome back over 40 former players and staff members from across the five decades of the team's history. Kristen Gillespie (Class of 1999), who was a member of the Pack's 1998 Final Four squad, will be on the sideline during the game in her seventh season as head coach for the Redbirds.
In addition to the halftime recognition of these program alumna, the Pack will wear its custom-designed Reynolds uniforms for Sunday's game. The cream-colored uniform highlights the Reynolds Coliseum noise meter down the side panels and also features the brick Block S logo that is inlaid into the sidewalk in front of the arena.

SERIES HISTORY (Illinois State leads 1-0)
- Sunday marks just the second all-time meeting between NC State and Illinois State. It will be the first matchup between the two teams since Jan. 8, 1981.
- That lone previous matchup between the Wolfpack and the Redbirds also took place in Raleigh, with Illinois State coming out on top by five points (73-68).
