
Records Fall on Final Day of Duke Invite

DURHAM, N.C. - The NC State track & field programs concluded a stellar weekend of competition at the Duke Invite on Saturday, capping off the meet with broken meet and facility records and a broken school record.
DISTANCE
Kyle Durham and Gavin Gaynor each registered times below the previous school record in the men's 800m. Durham became the new record-holder with a 1:49.83, and Gaynor's 1:49.95 checks in as the second-fastest program mark.
Zach Hughes charted a top-10 800m program time as well, his 1:50.76 checking in at seventh. Jake Toomey posted a personal-best 1:52.53 in the event.
On the women's side, Sam Bush placed first in the 800m with a personal-record mark of 2:04.99. The time ranks 10th in the country and is the third-fastest in the Wolfpack record book.
Savannah Shaw (2:10.38), Marlee Starliper (2:12.70) and Caroline Lewis (2:16.59) each tabbed personal-bests in the women's 800m.
SPRINTS
The men's 4x100m squad of Isaiah Gadson, Alexander Lang, Alan Alvarez and Alexander Nunley opened the day for NC State with a first-place finish. The group posted a time of 39.71 that set meet and facility records.
Cameron Murray and Joshua Brockman each attained a podium finish in the men's 110m hurdles, Murray placing second with a 13.83 and Brockman finishing third with a 13.95.
In the women's 100m hurdles, Ally Henson clocked a personal-best time of 13.87 that improved her own sixth-best time in NC State history.
Nunley competed in the men's 100m as well, running a PR of 10.62.
The women's 200m saw Jada Griffin record the seventh-fastest time in program history with her personal-record time of 24.00. Henson ran her second PR of the day in the event, tabbing a 24.83.
THROWS
Timara Chapman represented NC State in the women's javelin, recording a PR of 38.44m (126' 1") that ranks as the fifth-best throw in program history.
UP NEXT
The Pack travels to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Tom Jones Memorial April 15-16.
