Paxton and Oxendine Lead Pack on Day One of ACC Championship

Duo both shot four-under Friday
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – Easton Paxton and Spencer Oxendine both shot four-under par through two rounds and the Pack is in a tie for eighth place at the ACC Championship at the Shark's Tooth Golf Course.
The top four teams after stroke play will advance to match play on Sunday. The Pack is in eighth place on the team leaderboard, but will start the day Saturday morning just four shots back of fourth place.
Paxton and Oxendine matched each other shot for shot on Friday as both players shot two-under par 70 in both the first and second round. The duo is tied for 13th on the individual leaderboard.
Paxton's second round was the 151st round of his career, breaking the NC State record for most rounds played. The record was previously held by Bowen Sargent who competed in 150 rounds from 1987-91.
Ethan Choi was next for the Pack in a tie for 24th place. Choi led NC State with a three-under par 69 in the first round, before shooting a one-over par 73 in the second round.
Maximilian Steinlechner is in a tie for 45th place after rounds of 73 and 74 on Friday.
Carter Graf rounds out the NC State lineup in 59th place.
North Carolina leads the team standings after shooting a score of 28-under par through two rounds. Georgia Tech is in second place, nine shots back of the Tar Heels. Virginia is in third place, five shots back of the Yellow Jackets. Florida State and Notre Dame are tied for fourth place, three shots back of the Cavaliers.
Jacob Bridgeman of Clemson and Peter Fountain of North Carolina are tied for first on the individual leaderboard after both shot a nine-under par on the first day. Ryan Gerard of North Carolina is one shot back in third place.
