CLEMSON, S.C. – NC State volleyball held off a fierce Clemson squad as it earned a 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 17-25, 25-19) Atlantic Coast Conference victory on Friday night inside of Jervey Gym.

With the win, the Wolfpack (13-9, 7-4 ACC) increased its win streak over the Tigers (11-11, 3-8 ACC) to three games while winning 12 of the last 14 meetings.

Junior Kristen McDaniel paced the Pack with her third consecutive double double as she tallied a 35 assists with a team-high tying 10 digs and an ace. Offensively, graduate student Melissa Evans led the way with a match-best 16 kills on .344 hitting with two blocks while freshman Jada Allen added 10 kills on a blistering .409 clip with a season-high tying six blocks.

Defensively, graduate student Kaylee Frazier tied the team high with 10 digs, her ninth consecutive and 18th double-digit dig match this season.

Set One (NC State 25, Clemson 21)
The opening set was a tough battle as there were 13 ties and four lead changes. Tied at 18, Clemson used its first timeout then recorded back-to-back kills to gain a 20-18 lead. That's when NC State tightened up, ending the set on a solid 6-1 run that included a nice 5-0 run to get to set point before claiming the set with a kill from Evans. Evans dominated in the first set as she recorded six kills on an errorless seven swings for a .857 hitting percentage.

Set Two (NC State 27, Clemson 25)
The Pack jumped out to an early 5-0 lead capped off by back-to-back aces from sophomore Riley Shaak. What seemed to be all NC State changed at the end of the set as the Tigers reeled off a late 5-0 run to tie the score at 24-all. With the score knotted at 25, Rowland stepped up as she recorded back-to-back kills to allow NC State to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Set Three (NC State 17, Clemson 25)
The third set was all Clemson as the Tigers took a 2-1 lead and never looked back. The Pack tried to stay with Clemson but could never get a two-point scoring run. The Wolfpack struggled offensively, hitting .179 with only 10 kills while the Tigers were on fire with 14 kills for a .433 hitting percentage.

Set Four (NC State 25, Clemson 19)
The fourth set was a fight as neither team could hold a solid lead through the middle of the set. Tied at 12-all, the Wolfpack reeled off a 3-0 run that included two kills from Rowland to take a 15-12 lead at the media timeout that it would not relinquish. The Pack defense stepped up in the final set as the team held Clemson to a .160 hitting percentage and forced six errors.
