
Four from Wolfpack Set for ITA All-American Championships

RALEIGH - Four members of the NC State men's tennis team are slated to compete at the 2021 ITA All-American Championships. The tournament runs Oct. 2-10 and will be contested in Tulsa, Okla.
Freshman Luca Staeheli and junior Rafa Izquierdo Luque are set to compete in the qualifying singles draw and will additionally play together in the qualifying doubles draw.
Junior Robin Catry and senior Yannai Barkai tabbed spots in the prequalifying singles draw and will compete in the qualifying doubles draw together as well.
Prequalifying singles begins Saturday, Oct. 2 while the qualifying draws open play Monday, Oct. 4. Draws at the tournament will be announced at a later time.
LAST TIME OUT
Catry took home the singles A draw title at the Duke Bonk Invitational, taking down opponents from North Carolina, ETSU, Liberty and Wake Forest on his way to the crown.
Joseph Schrader took third in the singles C draw, and Collin Shick tabbed a consolation third place win.Â
PACK IN THE RANKINGS
Izquierdo Luque is the only Wolfpack singles player in the preseason ITA rankings, checking in at 82nd. In the doubles rankings, Barkai and Braden Shick tabbed a top-50 spot at No. 49.Â
Staeheli was named to the ITA's list of top-10 newcomers for 2021 at No. 3.
