NC State posts season-best floor score
ATHENS, Ga. - After a 193.900 team score in its tri-meet last Friday at Utah State, the No. 26 NC State gymnastics made a quick turnaround on Monday afternoon with its dual meet at No. 15 Georgia, bouncing back with a final score of 194.800 inside Stegeman Coliseum.
The Wolfpack improved by nine-tenths of a point from its last outing to Monday, as the GymDogs finished with a 196.875 - their highest score of the 2017 season. The team posted a season-best score on floor, as well as four career-best individual event scores. Of the eight top-five event finishes NC State collected, Chelsea Knight and Paris Phillips earned three a piece.

Four other gymnasts from the Pack received 9.750's for their performances, as Melissa Brooker, Amanda Fillard, Paris Phillips and Maggie Tamburro all tied for seventh place in the final standings. Brooker's outing marks a career best.
Vault
The Pack continued its momentum into the second rotation of the afternoon on vault, notching a 48.750 as a team. Alexa and Paris Phillips and Knight each earned a score of 9.775 to tie for fifth place, while Amanda and Caitlyn Fillard rounded out NC State's top five with scores of 9.750 and 9.675 to finish 10th and 11th, in respective order.
Floor
On floor the Wolfpack earned a season-best team total of 48.875, as Paris Phillips led the way with a career-best performance of 9.875 to place third in the event standings. Caitlyn Fillard posted the second-highest score among the team with a 9.800 to finish eighth, while Tamburro and Alexa Phillips tied for ninth overall with 9.750's. Knight rounded out the top five with a 9.700 to finish 11th, as Tamburro's outing marked a career high.
Beam
The team finished the afternoon on beam with a total of 48.300. Knight turned in the top score with a 9.750 to finish sixth, while Amanda and Caitlyn Fillard followed in a tie for seventh with 9.725's. Paris Phillips additionally earned a 9.600 to finish ninth in the final standings.
All-Around
NC State had three compete as all-arounders in Monday's matchup: Knight, Paris Phillips and Tamburro. Knight placed second with a score of 39.100, Phillips placed third with a mark of 39.000 and Tamburro earned a 38.300 in her first collegiate meet as an all-arounder to take fourth.
