NC State Places Fifth at Kiawah Island Invitational

Final Results
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The NC State men's golf team recorded a strong result in its first tournament of the 2015-16 season this weekend, placing fifth of 12 teams at the Kiawah Island Invitational. The Wolfpack was led by top-six finishes from junior Jacob McBride and freshman Davis Richards.
As a team, the Wolfpack shot a three-round score of 890 (+26) to finish one stroke ahead of Cincinnati and two strokes out of a tie for third place. After shooting a 301 during the second round of the competition, the Pack bounced back with a 297 on Saturday.
Strong on Par Fives
NC State ranked second of the 12 teams at the competition on par fives. The Pack averaged 4.99 strokes per par five to tie with Kentucky.
Save the Best for Last
Nolan Mills Jr., Carter Page, and Chad Cox all shot their best rounds of the tournament on Saturday. Mills dropped two strokes from his prior best round while Page and Cox each trimmed one.
