Despite double-digit hits and a great performance on the mound from Cory Wilder, NC State fell to No. 8 Florida State 3-2 on Thursday night at Doak Field at Dail Park.

The Wolfpack (18-10, 6-6 ACC) suffers only its second home loss of the year, and first since the ACC opener against Clemson on March 6. The Seminoles (24-7, 10-3) pick up their fourth-straight win.

Jake Armstrong gave the Pack its first lead of the game in the seventh, smoking an RBI-single to left to go up 2-1. Florida State managed to score two in the eighth, on a bases-loaded single flared to right that Armstrong nearly snared on full extension.

Armstrong tied the game 1-1 in the home half of the sixth, smashing a leadoff homer to left for his fourth of the season. The senior led the Wolfpack offense with a 2-for-4 performance including both RBIs.

Logan Ratledge and Ryne Willard both contributed three-hit games for the Pack. Jake Fincher went 1-for-2 with a walk. Brock Deatherage hit his fifth double of the year.

With 10 hits on the night, State extends its streak to eight-consecutive games with double-digit totals.

Wilder was masterful on the mound, throwing a career-high seven innings allowing one run on two hits and striking out a career-high 10 batters. Wilder is the first NC State pitcher to fan more than 10 batters since Carlos Rodon accomplished the feat on April 25,2014 against Georgia Tech.

Joe O'Donnell (3-1) collected the loss after allowing two runs on one hit. Tommy DeJuneas gave up one hit in 1 2/3 innings, fanning three.
