Wolfpack Track & Field Concludes Successful Opening Weekend

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - SeQuoia Watkins secured another ACC qualifying mark, and the NC State track and field team finished with a host of top-three finishes on the final day of the Dennis Craddock Carolina Relays.
The Wolfpack `s opening #STATEment included four ACC qualifying marks, and 28 top-three finishes.
100m
Acey Calhoun led all NC State sprinters in the 100m dash, picking up a second-place finish with a mark of 11.28. Will Krehnbrink followed with a time of 11.29 for third, while Cameron Cooper finished fourth with a mark of 11:31.
On the women's side, Tiana Patillo continued her strong start to outdoor season with another first-place finish. Patillo finished with a time of 12.35, and J'den Williams followed with a second-place mark of 12:44.
400m
NC State filled up the top half on the stands in the men's and women's 400m races. Brian Davis took the top spot in the men's race with a time of 49.26, while Quashawn Cunningham and Calhoun followed in third and fourth, respectively.
On the women's side, Dejah Arnold took second, finishing with a time of 58.40.
Mile Run
Wyatt Maxey and Patrick Sheehan ran to the top of the standings in the men's mile run. Maxey used a strong kick in his final lap to finish with a time of 4:17.30, while Sheehan was right behind with a finish of 4:17.97.
800m
The Wolfpack swept the top spots in both 800m races. Megan Moye opened her season with a new outdoor collegiate best mark in the 800m. Moye finished first in 2:09.34, finishing with a strong final split of 1:05.419, and Abdur Rahmaan Kelly also earned first place with a time of 1:55.73.
110m Hurdles
Dorian Williams opened his outdoor season with a second-place finish in the 110m hurdles. The freshman finished with a time of 15.49.
400m Hurdles
Erin Jenkins opened his outdoor season with an impressive first-place performance in the 400m hurdles. His finish of 54.17 was less than a second from an ACC qualifying mark, and marks his first collegiate attempt in the event.
Hammer Throw
In field events, Joshua Davis and Jule Rich finished second and third, respectively in the hammer throw. Davis threw a distance of 175'1.00", and Rich earned his second top-three mark of the weekend with a throw of 174'4.00".
Watkins picked up her second qualifying mark with a throw of 170'5.00" for first-place honors. The junior now has two qualifying marks in the opening weekend of competition.
