DENTON, Texas- The NC State gymnastics team took care of business in its first road meet of the season, as it earned a 196.175-193.275 victory over Texas Woman's University Sunday afternoon inside the Kitty Magee Arena.
The Wolfpack's score marks a team season-high and the highest score any NC State squad has posted in the first away meet of a given season in program history. Its performance also marks the 13th-highest overall team score in program history.

Vault
The Pack claimed first through third place on vault to take a team score of 49.150. Brittni Watkins won the event with a 9.925, followed by freshman Chelsea Knight in second with a 9.900 and Amanda Fillard and Lane Jarred each with a score of 9.800 to tie for third.
Uneven Bars
Sophomore Hannah Sobhan charted a career-high score of 9.875 on bars to take second, while Watkins finished third with a 9.850 and Michaela Woodford notched a 9.825 to take fifth in the event.
As a team, the Pack posted a score of 49.025.
Balance Beam
NC State finished up its first road meet of the season with a team score of 49.200 on beam. This marks the fouth-highest team score since 2005.
Like the team's vault performance, the Wolfpack claimed the top three spots in the event. Jarred, Watkins and freshman Nicole Wild each posted a score of 9.850 to tie for first with TWU's Spencer Jones.
Floor Exercise
Watkins also won floor with a score of 9.900, while Jarred finished fourth with a 9.800. As a team, NC State charted a score 48.800 in the event.
All-Around Competition
The Pack's all-arounders, Watkins and Woodford, took first and second in the competition. Watkins earned a 39.525 to mark a career-high and the third-highest individual score in program history, while Woodford tied her career-high score of 39.100
Up Next
NC State will return to action on Jan. 31 when it hosts UNC-Chapel Hill, West Virginia and William and Mary inside Reynolds Coliseum. Competition is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
