
Wolfpack Completes First Day at Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The NC State men's golf team completed the first round of play at the 2014 Puerto Rico Classic on Sunday afternoon. Following one time through the Rio Mar Country Club's River Course, State currently sits tied for 13th place.
The Pack shot a score of 296 (+8) on the first day of competition to rank tied for 13th with UNC Greensboro. No. 1 Alabama ended the first day atop the leaderboard with a score of 273 (-15) while No. 7 Georgia and No. 3 Georgia Tech each shot scores of 278 (-10) to tie for second.
Logan Harrell led the way for the Wolfpack on the first day of competition, shooting a one-over-par score of 73. The senior was followed very closely by teammates David Cooke (74), James Chapman (74), and Carter Page (75).
Harrell tied for 33rd on the first day of competition while Cooke and Chapman ended the round tied for 42nd. Page ended the first day in a tie for 56th place.
Chad Cox rounded out the first day of competition for State, shooting a 77 to tie for 66th.
