LYNCHBURG, Va. - Five student-athletes from the NC State Track & Field team traveled to Lynchburg Va. to compete at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Grant Rivers, Jule Rich, SeQuoia Watkins, Nicole Chavis and Alyssa Dunn are representing the Wolfpack at the two-day event.

Rivers' Reveal
After redshirting last year, Grant Rivers competed in four events throughout the day, marking his first meet as a collegiate athlete.
Rivers finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.75, while also finishing third in the long jump with a mark of 20.7' (6.31m) and the shot put with a throw of 37.36' (11.39m). In the long jump, Rivers jumped 6.39 ft. (1.95m) for a second place finish.
Weight Throw
Nicole Chavis collected first place honors with a 63.58 ft. (19.38m) throw, marking her second consecutive meet with a first-place finish in the weight throw. Teammate SeQuoia Watkins finished third with a throw that traveled 58.10 ft. (17.71m)

The Pack will continue competition at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Thursday, Dec. 4.
Rivers will look to build off of his first day results as he is scheduled to compete in six events on Thursday. Jule Rich will compete in the shot put and weight throw, while SeQuoia Watkins and Alyssa Dunn will compete in the shot put.
