Graham Advances to 100m Final

PHILADELPHIA – NC State sophomore T.J. Graham advanced to the finals of the 100-meter dash on Friday at the prestigious Penn Relays at Penn’s Franklin Field.
Graham, the speedy sprinter and wide receiver for the NC State football team, ran the fourth-fastest time of the day in the 100 with a time of 10.49 seconds. He will run in the 100-meter finals on Saturday at 3:55 p.m.
Graham was also part of the Wolfpack’s 4 X 100-meter relay team that had the 14th fastest time in Friday’s preliminary heats, with a season-best time of 41.00 seconds. Graham, Benjamin Major III, A’Tolani Akinkuotu and Tobias Palmer will run again Saturday in the college final race at 1:20 p.m.
Junior Emmanuel Davis flew past his best mark of the season with a leap of 23-feet, 10 ¾-inches, to finish eighth in his event. Teammate Lamont Savage was 10th with his second-best mark of the season at 23-feet, 9-inches.
Freshman Christian Council tied for 12th in the high jump with a mark off 6-feet, 6 ¾-inches. Freshman Nathaniel Williams was 15th in the college discus division with a throw of 157-feet, 6-inches.
Junior triple-jumper Kwame Boatwright and sophomore high jumper Kris Kornegay-Gober will compete in their events on Saturday.
For the NC State women, Jazueline Daniels was eighth in the college championship triple jump at 40-feet, 1 ½-inches.
