
Pope Records Yet Another NCAA Regional Mark

Raleigh, N.C. - Day two of the 112th Penn Relays took place on Friday, and in the field events on the men's side, Mitchell Pope recorded a fourth place finish in the men's collegiate championship shut put with his toss of 18.32 meters. That mark is Pope's seventh NCAA Regional qualifying mark of the season, notching one in ever single meet he has competed in thus far.
On the women's side in its only race of the day, NC State came home with a new school record. The women's 4x1,500 meter relay squad of Angelina Blackmon, Jemissa Hess, Julia Lucas and Kristina Roth set the new school record with their time of 17:54.50 for a third place finish. That time is 17 seconds better then the previous fastest time set back in 1986.
Jemissa Hess will be the only NC State participant competing tomorrow, she runs in the women's Olympic Developement mile at 4:50 p.m.
