Durham, N.C. - After suffering a heartbreaking loss in double overtime last night, the NC State men's soccer team turned right back around and scored their own win in overtime Saturday night. The Wolfpack (4-1) scored the game's only goal less then three minutes in overtime to defeat Columbia 1-0 in the Duke Adidas Tournament. Junior Aaron King took a misplayed ball from a Lion's defender which resulted in a breakaway, and netted the game-winner, his first goal of the season.
The Wolfpack defense was tough all night in allowing only seven shots, with only two of those shots on goal. Sophomore Rami Ghanayem saved one shot on the goalline in the 15th minute, and keeper Jorge Gonzalez recorded the other save to earn his second shutout of the season.
The Wolfpack will return to action Wednesday afternoon and host Maryland-Baltimore County at 4:00 p.m. at Method Road.
