
NC State Volleyball Falls At East Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina defeated NC State in a non-conference volleyball match Tuesday night at ECU's Williams Arena, winning by scores of 30-22, 30-27, 28-30, and 30-26. East Carolina improved to 6-15, while NC State fell to 5-14.
Only once during the match did either team amass a lead higher than six points in a game, which NC State did in game three. The story of each game was sideout points with each team holding serve for short stints.
Amanda Rudolph led the ECU attack, cracking the 200-kill barrier for the season after notching 20 kills and 15 digs. She had a .359 hitting percentage for the match. Whitney Brawner gave the Pirates another solid night with 10 kills and 15 digs. Robin Drewes had 14 kills and a team-high .458 hitting percentage. Freshman Jessica Vick directed the attack recording a career-high 32 assists.
Senior outside hitter Charece Williams led the Wolfpack with 15 kills, and senior middle blocker Alison Kreager added 12 kills, a .300 hitting percentage, two service aces and five total blocks. Freshman Sarah Ensminger and junior Rebecca Anderson had eight kills apiece, while senior Nikki Stemler led the team with 10 digs.
East Carolina hit .324 for the match. NC State hit .255 and had 12 total blocks.
