Clemson, S.C.--Clemson's 13th-ranked women's soccer team used two first-half goals to power past NC State 3-1, snapping the Wolfpack's five-match win streak, at Riggs Field on Sunday. The win moves Clemson to 10-3 overall and 4-3 in the ACC, while the NC State women fall to 7-6 (0-4 ACC).
The match was scoreless until the 34th minute when Clemson's Paige Ledford took advantage of a Wolfpack defensive miscue. The goal was unassisted.
Almost nine minutes later, Clemson struck again, off the foot of Allison Mitchell from 18 yards out.
