Dr. Heather Rogers is the Sport Psychiatrist for student-athletes. She is an integrated member of the Mental Health & Performance Psychology Department where she provides psychiatric evaluations and treatment for student-athletes.
She collaborates closely with the Mental Health Clinicians and the Department of Sport Medicine. Dr. Rogers is trained as a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist with over 20 years experience treating a wide range of psychiatric issues. She is a strong proponent of the biopsychosocial model of psychiatry and utilizes an integrated treatment approach including comprehensive evaluation, psychotherapy, sleep hygiene, healthy diet, regular exercise, mindfulness and when appropriate, pharmacotherapy (medication).
She is also a Staff Psychiatrist at NCSU's Counseling Center and a certified (RYT-200) yoga teacher.
