Ethan Fancher was promoted to the NC State women’s basketball’s graduate assistant in the summer of 2026 prior to the 2026-27 season. Fancher served the previous five seasons as a manager and practice player for the program. He will be pursuing a master’s degree in liberal arts while in his new role for the Wolfpack.
Fancher worked as a student manager and practice player from 2021-26, a five-year span that includes some of the greatest seasons in NC State women’s basketball history. Since his sophomore year, Fancher has been on the bench next to the assistant coaches and players during games with a device that shows the replay of plays.
Throughout his five years, the Wolfpack registered a 132-41 record, won an ACC Tournament (2022) and regular season (2025) championship and made three Sweet 16 appearances (2022, 2024 and 2025) and one Final Four (2024).
Fancher graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from NC State in December 2025.
