RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State volleyball team improved its winning streak to five matches as it swept Belmont Sunday afternoon in Reynolds Coliseum.

The Pack moves to 7-1 on the season, the best start through eight games under the leadership of head coach Megan Wargo-Kearney.

Set-By-Set Summary
One: NC State hit .171 with 13 kills, led by Rebecca Ring's 4 kills and Sophia Groom's 3 kills on a .667 clip. Belmont matched with 3 team blocks but hit .000 overall as NC State closed out the frame on a late run backed by an Eva Long service ace and kills from Jordan Smith and Talia Francom. The Pack took set one, 25-20
Two: The Wolfpack offense surged, hitting .419 behind 18 total kills. Talia Francom (.800) and Jordan Smith (1.000) scored five kills apiece, while Britni Silver added four kills and an ace to push NC State to take set two, 25-17.
Three: Belmont turned in its strongest offensive set, hitting .278 with 16 kills. The Bruins tied the game late and pulled within one following a late serve run from Mya Bolton, but a final kill by Britni Silver sealed the set, 25-23 and the match sweep for NC State.

Match Notes

The win marked the first over the Bruins in program history.
Jordan Smith picked up her fourth consecutive match with 10-plus kills after finishing with a match best 11.
Sophie Groom finished with seven total blocks, the most since she joined the Pack back in January 2023.
In all seven wins, at least one member of the Pack has tallied two service aces. Sunday's contributor was freshman Makenna Kowren.
Talia Francom posted eight kills on 13 attempts with just two errors to finish with a team best .462 hitting percentage. Jordan Smith was just .012 behind with a .450 hitting efficiency.
As a team, the Pack only recorded two reception errors in serve-receive to mark their third match this season with two or less.
The match marked the fourth this season NC State has finished hitting .300 or greater as a team.
