BOCA RATON, FL - NC State men's soccer battled to a 3-3 draw against FAU Sunday night at FAU Soccer Stadium.

After an hour-and-10-minute weather delay, the match finally got underway. Russell Berko opened the scoring for the Wolfpack in the 20th minute, recording his second goal of the season.

Just before halftime, Ervin Cruz doubled the Pack's lead, finding the back of the net off a loose ball in the box. The goal marked Cruz's first since returning from an injury that sidelined him last season.

FAU responded less than two minutes later, cutting the Wolfpack's lead just before the break.

The Owls carried that momentum into the second half, finding the equalizer in the 52nd minute.

NC State regained the lead when Josh Gordon scored his first goal as a member of the Wolfpack.

FAU continued to battle, leveling the match with five minutes remaining.

The Wolfpack was unable to find a late goal, settling for a 3-3 draw and moving to 1-1-2 on the season.

NC State finished the night with a 16-12 advantage in shots and held an 8-7 edge in shots on goal.

The Wolfpack will open ACC play at home on Saturday, Sept. 5th, against Virginia Tech. The match is set for 6 p.m. at Dail Soccer Field.
