Duke Scott Named to 2026 Paul Hornung Award Watch List

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State running back Duke Scott has been named to the 2026 Paul Hornung Award Watch List presented by Texas Roadhouse, given annually to the most versatile player in college football.
Last season, Scott's first year of competition, he totaled 581 yards, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. In the Wolfpack win over No. 8 Georgia Tech, the Stockbridge, Ga., native rushed for 196 yards and gained 207 all-purpose yards in the win. That tied for the 11th-best rushing total in school history and was the most since 2018. He was named the ACC Running Back of the Week and Rookie of the Week for that contest. He was the runner-up for AP National Player of the Week and was named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Week.
Named to the All-ACC Academic team for 2025. This season, Scott was honored to wear the No. 1 jersey. At 5'10, 225 lbs., Scott is also one of the Pack's leaders and most consistent performers in the weight room.
The LSC created the Award in January 2010 with the support of Paul Hornung, a native and lifelong resident of Louisville and member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. In 2016, the Paul Hornung Award became an associate member of the prestigious National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA). Founded in 1997, the NCFAA includes college football's most prestigious awards, and its 24 awards have honored more than 900 recipients dating back to 1935.
In 2017, running back Nyheim Hines was one of four finalists for the award, with Hollywood Smothers, DK Kaufman, Thayer Thomas, and Zonovan Knight all also being Pack players who had previously been recognized.
