RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State baseball is up to seven new signings this summer, as the Wolfpack added two more players ahead of the 2027 season, Connor Chicoli and Maddox Monsour.
Chicoli, a Raleigh native, spent last season at South Carolina, where he posted a 3.20 ERA with 34 strikeouts and 12 walks over 39.1 innings in 17 appearances, including six starts, this past spring.
Chicoli started his college career at Georgia Tech, posting a 5.46 ERA, with 18 strikeouts and five walks in 28 innings across 14 appearances, including five starts, as a true freshman in 2024. His standout moment was allowing only runs on seven hits with four strikeouts over 7.2 innings during a midweek game against Mercer on May 7, 2025.
Before Chicoli entered the college ranks, he was among the state's top recruits from Holly Springs (N.C.) Pro5 Baseball Academy. Chicoli ranked as North Carolina's No. 4 right-handed pitcher and was the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, according to Perfect Game.
Additionally, Chicoli earned all-conference honors at Garner (N.C.) High in 2022. He also spent his high school summers with Dirtbags National and Canes National.
Monsour, from Carrllton, Ga., went 10-for-54 with 12 runs scored, a triple, a home run, and 10 RBI in 36 appearances (14 starts) as a true freshman this past spring at Texas. He stole seven bases in 16 attempts for the Longhorns.Â
During the 2025 recruiting cycle, he was ranked No. 228 overall in the class by Perfect Game and No. 16 among prospects from the state of Georgia. The outfielder was a three-star All-State selection during his career at Carrollton (Ga.) High, where he set the program's single-season (37) and career (83) records for stolen bases.
