CHARLOTTE, N.C. – NC State will host South Carolina on Tuesday, Dec. 1, in next season's SEC/ACC Challenge as announced by the conference offices and ESPN on Friday.
Network designations and game times will be announced at a later date.
NC State leads the all-time series with South Carolina, 49-28, and the first meeting between the two programs dates back to the 1912-13 season.
NC State and South Carolina were in the Southern Conference from 1922 until both became founding members of the ACC in 1953. South Carolina left the ACC in the summer of 1971. Since that summer, they've only played each other five times.
The last regular season meeting between the two programs was Nov. 23, 2007. NC State beat South Carolina, 63-61, in the semifinals of the Old Spice Classic in Orlando, Fla. The Pack went on a 15-3 run in the second half to turn a 49-40 deficit into a 55-52 lead with four minutes to play. Brandon Costner led NC State with 21 points in the victory.
Season tickets for the inaugural season of the Justin Gainey era are now on sale at GoPack.com or by calling the ticket office at 919-865-1510.
