Wolfpack Baseball Sends Six to 2026 MLB Draft Combine

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Six NC State baseball standouts will head to Phoenix, Ariz., to take part in the 2026 MLB Draft Combine June 23rd-26th. Jacob Dudan, Ty Head, Sherman Johnson, Ryan Marohn, Chris McHugh, and Luke Nixon will head west ahead of the 2026 Draft.
The 2026 Draft Combine will feature 335 Draft prospects, including 195 collegiate players and 140 high school athletes, as well as a decorated group of former Major League players and coaches, members of Club baseball operations departments, scouting directors, and other Club personnel.
The top 300 Draft-eligible players, as identified by MLB Clubs, have been invited to attend the 2026 Draft Combine, along with up to 50 supplemental invites. The Combine will provide an opportunity for players to participate in a series of medical and performance assessments, as well as educational programming designed to prepare them for careers in professional baseball. All players will have the opportunity to participate in a pro-style showcase workout and strength and performance assessments.
MLB Network will have exclusive live coverage from Chase Field on Tuesday, June 23rd, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. MLB Network's stable of personalities – including Greg Amsinger, Mike Lowell, Dan O'Dowd, Lance Brozdowski, Jim Callis, Jared Carrabis, Harold Reynolds, Dan Plesac, and Xavier Scruggs – will provide analysis and breakdowns as the players undergo their pro-style showcase workout. Interviews with players and Club personnel will be featured as part of the coverage, which will also be streamed live on MLB.TV, MLB.com, and in the MLB App. In addition to MLB Network's coverage on June 23rd, the Draft Combine workouts on June 24th will be streamed across MLB's digital platforms.
As part of the Combine experience, attendees will have the opportunity to interview and interact directly with Major League Club general managers and scouting directors, as well as benefit from an enhanced medical evaluation process. Attendees will also interact with notable MLB players and former managers. In addition, prospects will have opportunities to be featured on MLB social media channels, receive personal branding training, and access real-time content and custom video for their own platforms.
The 2026 MLB Draft presented by Nippon Express is planned for July 11th-12th during All-Star Week in Philadelphia. The Draft will feature 20 rounds across the two days. The opening night of the Draft, which will feature 135 picks in total, will include the first four rounds, compensatory rounds, competitive balance rounds, and prospect promotion incentive rounds at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
