TEMPE, Ariz. – In the 2026 ITA DI Men's Carolina Regional Awards, William Manning from NC State men's tennis was named the Player to Watch, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday afternoon.
After the completion of his redshirt-sophomore campaign with NC State men's tennis, William Manning has earned 2026 ITA DI Men's Carolina Regional Player to Watch honors.
The Raleigh native has continued to prove himself as pivotal in the lineup, most notably just over a year ago when he clinched the Wolfpack's advancement to the 2025 NCAA Super Regional for just the third time in program history.
Manning displayed increasing growth throughout the 2025-26 season, beginning with his impressive performance at the ITA All-American Championships back in the fall. Collecting five wins in four days, he battled through the pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds to reach the singles main draw, taking out two ranked opponents in two sets along the way.
In the spring dual season he found action in both doubles and singles, and entered the ITA singles rankings for the first time. Pairing primarily with Charlie Camus at the No. 2 doubles spot, the two recorded a ranked win with a victory over Louisville's No. 90 Walid Ahouda & Hamza El Amine. In singles, Manning played mainly on courts two and three in singles, collecting three ranked wins in total.
