RALEIGH – The NC State women's golf team is slated to be a No. 8 seed at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, as announced by the NCAA and Golf Channel Wednesday. The selection signifies NC State's 21st NCAA Regional appearance and third in the past four tournaments.
NC State will play at UNC Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill from Monday, May 11 to Wednesday, May 11.
The top five teams and top individuals from the non-advancing teams from each of the six regional sites will advance to the NCAA Championship, which is set for Friday, May 22 to Wednesday, May 27. The national championship will be hosted at the Omni La Costa Golf Course in Carlsbad, California for the third straight season.
The Wolfpack is seeking its fifth nationals appearance as a team in school history. Last season, NC State finished sixth as a team at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional. Marie Eline Madsen won the tournament as an individual to be the top player from the non-advancing teams to earn a spot at the national championship. Madsen became the first individual to play at nationals for NC State since 2008 and just the second in school history.
