RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State gymnastics team has completed its 2025 recruiting class with the additions of Elizabeth Strohecker (China Grove, N.C.), Adasyn Tackett (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), and Karina Vega (Kissimmee, Fla.) head coach Kim Landrus announced Thursday.
The trio joins November signees Emerson Fisk and Autumn Rardin, who will arrive on campus this summer alongside the newest additions.
"Bob, Phil, Emily and I are excited to officially welcome Elizabeth, Karina and Adasyn as part of the 2025 incoming class," Landrus said. "These three do a great job of complementing our current team and the incoming class, which will allow Pack Gymnastics to build off our past successes."
Elizabeth Strohecker
Strohecker, a native of China Grove, N.C., trains at High Point Gymnastics Academy and was a 2023 Level 10 DP national qualifier.
"I chose NC State because I felt confident I could grow academically and athletically," Strohecker said. "The people, location, and atmosphere made it feel like home!"
Adasyn Tackett
Tackett, from Myrtle Beach, S.C., is a two-time Level 10 DP national qualifier and an Eastern all-around and beam champion. She trains at Gymnastics Inc.
"From the moment I visited, I knew I wanted to be a part of the Pack," Tackett said. "I could tell it goes far beyond just a team—it's one big family—and the coaches and athletes were so welcoming. The support provided in both their athletic and academic programs doesn't go unseen. There truly is something special at NC State that I cannot wait to be a part of."
Karina Vega
Vega, from San Juan, Puerto Rico, resides in Kissimmee, Fla., where she trains at Orlando Metro Gymnastics. Her career achievements include being a Puerto Rico national team member, the 2021 Puerto Rico junior all-around champion, a participant in the 2021 Junior Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the 2021 Junior Pan American Games, and a 2025 Development Program national qualifier.
Vega was drawn to NC State by its supportive environment. "In addition to the amazing academic opportunities provided by NC State, it was important to me that I would be in a place where I felt comfortable and excited to work every day," she said. "The team environment and supportive training staff made all the difference for me. I was sure I wanted to be at NC State from the first day I visited."
The program is eager to welcome its newest class this summer, with Landrus expressing confidence in what lies ahead.
"Each of these student-athletes has a great amount of passion for competing for NC State, and I am confident that their passion will grow even greater during their careers," Landrus said. "I am excited to see each of them grow as scholar-athletes, represent The Pack at the highest level, and be an integral part of Wolfpack gymnastics' future success."
