TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the final rankings for the 2024-25 season Wednesday morning, revealing that NC State finished seventh. This marks the program's highest-ever final ITA ranking as the previous record was set in 2022 at No. 18.
Coming off the heels of one of its most successful seasons in program history, the honors for the Pack continue to grow. The Pack finished the 2025 season with a No. 7 team ranking according to ITA, marking the highest-ever finish for the team in program history. The previous program record was set in 2018 when that squad landed at No. 18.
NC State accumulated numerous accolades throughout the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025. In the fall, three players qualified for the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship, a new program record for the most individuals to qualify for the tournament. In the spring, the team reached the NCAA Super Regional match for just the third time in program history, as well as hosted the first and second rounds in Raleigh.
Closing out the season with a 22-7 record, 22 victories marks the most wins in a season since 2007. The end of the regular season brought a new program record for most conference wins in a season with 12.
The Pack defeated 14 ranked teams, seven of those being featured in the top 25 and four in the top 10. From February 26 to April 6, the red-and-white held a 13-match win streak.
Throughout the spring, the squad consistently held two highly-ranked doubles pairs, and three ranked singles players. Senior leaders, Braden Shick and Fons Van Sambeek concluded their collegiate careers at No. 5 in the doubles rankings to earn All-American honors for the first time. Shick, as well as Jules Leroux and Luca Staeheli finished the 2024-25 season with 20+ wins each in singles action.
