RALEIGH – NC State women's basketball point guard Zoe Books has accepted an invite to attend the Kelsey Plum's 2025 DAWG Class in Phoenix, Arizona from April 18-20. The class is made up of 12 of the best collegiate guards in the country.
Brooks will take part in the three-day training camp with its goal being to help women's collegiate athletes have and use the resources for their eventual transition into the WNBA and the professional level. The camp offers world-class training, as well as mental health resources, recovery and more. Plum, who plays for the Los Angeles Sparks and recently had her jersey retired at the University of Washington, created the DAWG Class after her struggle transitioning from the college to professional game. She wants this group to have the keys to navigate through the challenges while keeping the "dawg" mentality.
Brooks is coming off a phenomenal sophomore season, in which she was named an All-ACC First Team recipient and the ACC Most Improved Player, the first student-athlete to receive that award in program history. The Plainfield, New Jersey native was a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention selection. She logged 14.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game with a 46.2 percent field goal percentage (184-398) this season across starting in all 34 game appearances.
The guard finished the season with 28 double-digit scoring games, four 20-point games and a career-high 33 points in the Pack's win over No. 1 Notre Dame. Brooks logged 15.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game, while shooting 86.3 percent from the free throw line (63-73) in ACC play. She was named to the ACC All-Tournament First Team, averaging 12.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game across the three contests.
In just two years, Brooks has tallied 825 points, 304 rebounds, 256 assists, 100 steals and 38 blocks, while starting in 41 of 72 game appearances.
Brooks is now one of three NC State players to have been invited to the DAWG Class, with Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers, who was named the Dawg of the Class, attended the camp in 2024.
