
Brooks, James, Rivers Receive WBCA All-America Honorable Mention Honors; Moore Finalist for Coach of the Year

RALEIGH – Three NC State women's basketball players have been recognized with All-America Honorable Mention honors by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, as announced on Thursday. Zoe Brooks, Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers are three Wolfpack women's basketball players represented by the organization. Head coach Wes Moore was also picked as a finalist for the WBCA Coach of the Year.
Brooks, James and Rivers were announced as WBCA Regional Finalists, as announced last week. The trio were named All-ACC First Team and ACC All-Tournament First Team choices.
Coach Moore was named the ACC Coach of the Year for the fourth time, 15th overall Coach of the Year honor of his career. He was one of 10 selected as a semifinalist for the 2025 Werner Ladder Naismith Women's Basketball College Coach of the Year.
Brooks finished her sophomore season having averaged 14.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She logged 28 double-digit scoring games and four 20+ point contests, as well as a 33-point performance against No. 1/1 Notre Dame. Brooks was named the ACC Most Improved Player, increasing her scoring average by 5.2 points per game from freshman to sophomore year, while playing 31.7 minutes per game as the team's floor general. Brooks also averaged 15.8 points and 4.4 assists per game in ACC play.
James has picked up her third All-America Honorable Mention honor, having been recognized by the AP and USBWA as well. She led the Pack with a 17.9 scoring average, which was top five in the ACC, as well as 4.9 rebounds per game with 92 total assists and 35 charges taken. James logged double digits in scoring in all but one of her 35 game appearances, while tallying 14 20-point games and 36 points vs. No. 10/10 Duke, which was the most points scored by a member of the Wolfpack since 1998. James is gearing up for the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday, April 14.
Rivers wrapped up her collegiate career on a high note, having averaged 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, along with a team-leading 3.8 assists per game, 1.6 steals per game and 1.3 blocks per game. She finished her senior season with 22 double-digit scoring games and a team-leading nine double-doubles. Rivers had a near triple-double multiple times this year, including 17 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists against Michigan State. She was also an ACC All-Defensive Team selection. Rivers is also getting ready for the WNBA Draft.
Coach Moore led the Pack to a 28-7 record and its sixth NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in the past seven tournaments. He led the Pack to an ACC Regular Season Co-Championship, as well as an ACC Tournament Championship game appearance. Moore earned his 11th 20-win season and seventh 25-win season in his NC State career.
