
Three Named WBCA Regional Finalists

RALEIGH – Three NC State women's basketball players have been selected as regional finalists for the 2025 Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) All-America Team, as announced by the organization. Zoe Brooks is a first-time finalist, while Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers are named finalists for the second consecutive years.
All three players were named to the All-ACC First Team and the ACC All-Tournament First Team. James has been announced as with AP and USBWA All-America Honorable Mention honors and Brooks was tabbed the ACC Most Improved Player, the first for the Pack program.
Brooks averages 14.0 points per game on nearly 46 percent shooting, the second highest average on the team with 4.8 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game and 1.3 steals per game. She has 27 double-figure scoring games and three 20-point performances. Brooks logged a career-high 33 points with 14-of-14 shooting from the free throw line with 10 rebounds in the Pack's win over No. 10/10 Notre Dame. In games against top 25 opponents, Brooks averages 15.8 points per game. Brooks has led the team in assists in 15 games and has two double-doubles on the season.
James has led the Pack in scoring for the second straight year, registering 18.1 points per game on 44.8 percent shooting from the field, 33.6 percent from the 3-point line and 74.5 percent from the free throw line. She also logs 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game. The Virginia Beach native has registered double digits in scoring in all but one of the 34 games with 14 20-point contests. She logged a career-high 36 points on 15-of-19 shooting in the Pack's win over No. 10/10 Duke. She shines when the lights are the brightest, registering 18.5 points per game against top 25 opponents and 19.2 points per game against opponents in the top 50 in the NET.
Rivers is having another all-around performance this season, logging 11.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game along with a team-leading 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. She has 22 double-digit scoring games, nine double-digit rebounding games and a team-high nine double-doubles. Rivers logged a near triple-double in four different games later in the conference season, highlighted by 14 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists against No. 1/1 Notre Dame. Against opponents in the NET top 50, Rivers logged 13.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.
The 2025 WBCA Coaches' All-America Team will be announced on Friday, April 4. The committee will choose 10 players from the list of 50 regional finalists.
