
Sixteen Named to 2024 ACC Cross Country All-Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sixteen members of the 2024 NC State cross country team have been named to the ACC Cross Country All-Academic Team, the league announced Tuesday.
Nine members of the women's team and seven members of the men's team earned All-ACC Academic Team honors for the 2024 cross country season.
Grace Hartman and Hannah Gapes highlighted the women's team as the top finishers for the Wolfpack, most notably for their performances at the 2024 NCAA Championships. Hartman placed fifth with a time of 19:39.5, making her the top U.S. finisher in the race. Gapes followed closely, finishing eighth in 19:42.7. Both runners earned All-America honors for their top-40 finishes.
Hartman, who was named the 2024 ACC Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, is now a six-time All-ACC Academic honoree. Gapes earned the distinction for the second time.
Fellow national championship runners Brooke Rauber (three-time All-ACC Academic), Angelina Napoleon, Bethany Michalak, Kate Putman, and Ellie Shea also earned spots on the All-ACC Academic list. Fiona Smith, Jenna Schulz (three-time All-ACC Academic), and Olivia Haas rounded out the honorees for NC State.
The men's team was represented by seven members, led by national championship runner Brett Gardner.
Gardner is now a six-time All-ACC Academic honoree and a five-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection. He represented NC State as an individual qualifier at the NCAA Championships, finishing 122nd with a time of 30:01.7.
Also earning All-ACC Academic honors were Matt Bogdan, Travis Koekemoer (three-time honoree), Wesley Larson (four-time honoree), JJ Malach, Jake Toomey, and Noah Valyo.
