
Wolfpack Crowned Dual Meet Tournament Champs With Win Over Georgia

ATLANTA, GA - The No. 7/10 ranked NC State men's and women's swimming and diving teams are heading back to Raleigh as champions of The Dual Meet Tournament. The Wolfpack opened their 2025 campaign in dominant fashion, powering past Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Georgia over two days of competition at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
NC State vs. Georgia Tech
The Wolfpack kicked off the weekend against host Georgia Tech, securing 466 combined points to the Yellow Jackets' 315 in round one. NC State posted five personal bests and 15 first-place finishes, including four podium sweeps in the men's 200 freestyle, women's 50 freestyle, women's 200 IM, and men's 200 IM. The opening victory propelled the Pack into the evening semifinal session against Florida State.
NC State vs. Florida State
In the semifinals, NC State continued its commanding form, collecting four more 1-2-3 sweeps, this time in the women's 100 and 500 freestyle, men's 500 freestyle, and women's 200 IM. The Pack also secured 1-2 finishes in the women's 200 freestyle and the 400 medley relay, going a perfect 4-for-4 in relay events overall. Behind 11 individual titles, the Wolfpack surged to a 453–322 win over Florida State to advance to the championship final.
Final vs. Georgia
NC State capped off the tournament with another powerhouse performance, tallying 15 first-place finishes en route to a 443–314 victory over Georgia. Sophomore Erika Pelaez led a 1-2-3 sweep in the women's 100 backstroke, posting the third-fastest time in the nation this season. The Wolfpack women also claimed both relay titles in the 400 free and 200 medley events.
On the men's side, sophomore Kaii Winkler delivered a standout swim, leading off the 400 free relay in 41.38. The nation's top time this season and the fifth-fastest in program history.
Freshman Highlights
Making her collegiate debut, Eneli Jefimova impressed with a 57.67 in the 100 breaststroke, earning an NCAA qualifying time and ranking as the second-fastest mark in school history behind Sophie Hansson. She also clocked the ninth-fastest 200 breaststroke time in program history at 2:09.21.
Freshmen Gavin Keogh, Max Carlsen, and Ian Stutts each earned their first collegiate wins, capturing titles in the 200 backstroke, 500 freestyle, and 200 IM, respectively.
Diving Highlights
The Wolfpack diving squad also shined, led by newcomers Grace Hurley and Riley McGrath, who both earned first-place finishes against Georgia in the final. Hurley added a second-place finish against Georgia Tech (125.40) to help the Pack build an early advantage on day one.
Looking Ahead
The Wolfpack return home to Raleigh for the inaugural Raleigh Rumble, hosting Ohio State and Virginia Tech on Nov. 7–8 at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center.
