
NC State Cross Country Teams Rank in Preseason Polls

RALEIGH, N.C. – The three-time reigning national champion NC State women's cross country team is starting the 2024-25 season off in a familiar position as the Pack is the No. 1 ranked team in the USTFCCCA National Preseason Coaches' Poll, as well as being first in the ACC Preseason Cross Country Coaches Poll, both announced this week.
The 2023 season saw the Wolfpack collect their third straight National Championship, seventh straight NCAA Southeast Regional Championship, and eighth straight ACC Championship.
Heading into the 2024 season, the women's team looks to continue their streak, with two of their top five finishers from the 2023 national championship team, Leah Stephens and Grace Hartman, returning to help lead the Pack.
The women's team is led by head coach Laurie Henes. Henes was awarded USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year, as well as her fourth consecutive ACC Coach of the Year award and eighth consecutive Southeast Region Coach of the Year during the 2023 season.
MEN'S TEAM RANKED FOURTH IN SOUTHEAST REGIONAL POLL
The men's team enters the 2024 season ranked fourth in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Poll. The men finished 17th at the 2023 national championships, marking their ninth top-20 finish. They finished eighth at the 2023 ACC Championships and are returning two of their top five finishers, Toby Gualter and Brett Gardner.
