Napoleon Records Second Fastest Time in Program History on Final Day of East Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The women of the NC State track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2024 NCAA East Regional hosted by the University of Kentucky with three more athletes punching their ticket to the Outdoor Championships next month.
Senior Sam Bush was the first member of the Pack to punch a ticket to the championship on Saturday. She finished ninth overall and fifth in her heat in the 1500m race with a new personal best time of 4:09.11 to earn the automatic bid to the championship in Eugene.
Bush would later punch her ticket to Eugene in the 5000m after recording a new personal best time of 15:32.95 to finish fifth overall. She is one of two members of the Pack to qualify for two events at the Championship.
Grace Hartman also earned an automatic qualification for the 5000m championship after finishing the race ninth overall with a new personal best time of 15:43.13. The event is the second that sophomore qualified in, as she also earned a spot in the 10,000m.
Freshman Angelina Napoleon recorded the second fastest time in program history in the 3000m steeplechase, with a new personal best time of 9:54.08. She will compete in Eugene next month after finishing fourth overall on Saturday.
The Pack concluded the East Regional with five athletes earning an automatic qualification to Eugene next month: Sam Bush, Grace Hartman, Amaris Tyynismaa, Angelina Napoleon, and Brett Gardner.
