Quarzo Set to Compete with Team USA at World Athletics XC Championships

RALEIGH - NC State freshman Jolena Quarzo will represent the Wolfpack on the international stage tomorrow, competing for the USATF Women's Junior Cross Country Team in the women's U20 6k at the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

A CLOSER LOOK
Quarzo enters the weekend hoping to help the USA take home the gold after qualifying for the USATF Junior team back in January. The first-year collegiate runner finished the 6k in 20:44.0 at the USATF Cross Country Championships on January 20 to earn a spot on the National squad.

Prior to qualifying for Team USA, Quarzo ran twice for the Wolfpack during the 2023 cross country season, competing unattached on both occasions.

The 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships will kick off with the women's U20 6k tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. (ET). Each country is allowed six entries into each race, with the top-four finishers scoring for each team.
