
Pack Finishes With a Scoreless Draw Against #24 Hokies

Blacksburg, Va. – NC State men's soccer (5-2-4) finds itself another scoreless draw against a ranked opponent for the second week in a row after visiting 24th-ranked Virginia Tech (6-3-2) Friday night.
Enzo Carvalho re-entered the lineup as goalkeeper and was able to make numerous crucial saves in the game to limit any scoring opportunities for the Hokies.
Hakim Karamoko, the team's leading shot taker, led the way tallying three shots, one of which was a header in the 59th that minute that nearly missed the far post. Later on in the second half he was able to make a break down the right side and cut back the ball on a defender enabling a left-footed shot that sailed over past the far post.
Donavan Phillip made an identical looking play with his left foot in the 65th minute that was launched over the crossbar.
Phillip and Henrique Santos each recorded two shots each, while Taig Healy, Drew Lovelace, and Aidan Payne each found one for themself as well.
The Wolfpack out-shot the Hokies in the first 5-3, forcing the home keeper to make three saves. But the home team found more opportunities in the second half with seven shots compared to NC State's five.
The game proved to be an even match-up as both teams recorded 10 shots, three saves, and three corner-kicks.

NC State returns home on Tuesday, October 15 to take on 21st-ranked Hofstra at 5 p.m. in Dail Soccer Stadium.
