
Volleyball Slides Past Brown, 3-0

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – NC State volleyball earned its third sweep of the season as the Wolfpack defeated Brown, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-21) on Friday afternoon at the Rutgers 9/11 Memorial Tournament presented by Bridgewater Marriott.
The Pack (3-4) played solid volleyball as the team committed a season-low nine attacking errors and hit .345 to cruise past the Bears (3-2) in its first match of the weekend.
Leading the offensive threat was senior Jade Parchment who secured her second double-double of the season as she posted a match-best 14 kills with a blistering .429 hitting percentage and 11 digs. Junior Taylor Rowland also racked up double-digit kills as she tallied 12 on the day with a .400 hitting clip.
Classmate Kristen McDaniel recorded a game-high 38 assists alongside a season-high three kills for an errorless .500 hitting percentage. Defensively graduate student Kaylee Frazier earned the start at libero and recorded a season-high 16 digs.
Set One (NC State 25, Brown 21)
The first set started off tight as there were three ties by the sixth point of the game. Brown found energy and reeled off a 5-0 run to take an 11-6 lead. The Pack did not give up, as it fought back to knot the score at 18. Freshman Jada Allen recorded a kill and a block to give NC State enough momentum to close out the set. Frazier was all over the court as she recorded nine of NC State's 21 digs in the set.
Set Two (NC State 25, Brown 18)
The Pack was in complete control in this set as the team took a 2-1 lead early and never looked back. The offense was nearly unstoppable as NC State hit a thunderous .531 with 18 kills and only one attacking error. Parchment led the threat by going 6-of-9 (.667) while McDaniel went a perfect 2-for-2 on set dumps.
Set Three (NC State 25, Brown 21)
The final set was similar to the first as there were four ties and three lead changes. At the final tie (13-13), NC State went on a fierce 7-2 run to take a 20-15 lead that it did not let up. The Pack's defense really stepped up in the final set as it held Brown to a .073 hitting percentage.
