NC State wins three of the final four bouts to down #10 Missouri
NICEVILLE, FLA. – #5 NC State Wrestling picked up a pair of dual wins and moved into the championship bout at the Collegiate Wrestling Duals in Niceville, Fla. The Pack downed Binghamton 35-7 to start the day then #10 Missouri 19-12.

The Pack will battle for the title tomorrow against #1 Iowa. The dual will be at 6 p.m. (ET).

The top-10 battle between #5 NC State and #10 Missouri will go down as one of the top duals of the season in the NCAA. The dual featured 18 ranked wrestlers in the 10 matchups and was close throughout.

The dual was tied 9-9 after the first six, but the Pack won three of the final four matches to secure the win. In that stretch, NC State got bonus points at 184 pounds in a matchup of top-15 wrestlers and then a top-five upset at 197 pounds to secure the team win.

The Tigers captured the first bout at 125 pounds, but #17 Kai Orine answered with a 7-3 decision. Missouri again went up in the team race with a decision at 141 pounds, but #3 Tariq Wilson answered with an 11-8 win over #18 Edmond.

NC State took its first lead at the halfway point (9-6), as #23 Ed Scott used a third period ride out and scored a 3-2 upset over #15 Jacques at 157 pounds.

The dual was once again tied after 165 pounds, but the Pack then closed it out with three straight wins to secure the top-10 win.

#5 Hayden Hidlay started with a 9-5 decision over #14 Mocco. The lone bonus point bout of the match came at 184 pounds, as #3 Trent Hidlay used four takedowns in the third period and came away with a 13-5 major decision over #11 Kent. The dual was wrapped up at 197 pounds, as #15 Isaac Trumble used a late takedown and 1:20 of RT for a 5-3 decision over #4 Elam.

In the first dual of the day, the Pack picked up a 35-7 win over Binghamton. NC State won eight of the 10 matches, with five going for bonus points.
