Wolfpack Falls to #1 Demon Deacons in ACC Championship Quarterfinal

ROME, Ga. – The NC State men's tennis team's ACC Championship journey came to an end Friday afternoon in the quarterfinal round, as the Wolfpack fell to the national No. 1 Wake Forest Demon Deacons by a final score of 4-0 at the Rome Tennis Center.

Wake Forest (26-1) began doubles action with the top-ranked duo of Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim defeating NC State's 46th-ranked pair of Michael Ogden and Alexis Galarneau by a 6-1 count. The Demon Deacons' Petros Chrysochos and Dennis Uspensky then defeated Igor and Ivan Saveljic 6-3 to claim the doubles point.

No. 75 Christian Seraphim defeated the Wolfpack's Michael Ogden 6-1, 6-4 to give the Demon Deacons a 2-0 lead. Dennis Uspensky then won 6-2, 6-2 over NC State's Georgiy Malyshev and No. 4 Petros Chrysochos defeated No. 86 Alexis Galarneau by a 6-1, 6-2 count.

The Wolfpack's 74th-ranked Nick Horton dropped the first set and was in a close second set with No. 51 Borna Gojo and Igor Saveljic had pulled level at 3-3 in the second set after dropping the first to No. 13 Skander Mansouri when the match was decided.

NC State exits the 2017 ACC Championship with an overall record of 14-15.
