@PackWrestle Claims Five Titles at Wolfpack Open

RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 7 NC State wrestling team won five of the 10 weight classes at the Wolfpack Open on Sunday. Overall, the Wolfpack had eight wrestlers place among the top-three at their weights.

NC State had 12 of its 18 entrants reach the quarterfinals, 11 advanced to the semifinals and seven were in the finals.

Seeing his first action of the season, #7 Sean Fausz took top honors at 125 pounds. Fausz started the day with a pin, a 17-2 tech fall and a 14-2 major decision before scoring a 17-6 major decision over teammate Tommy Cox in the semifinals. In the finals, Fausz defeated #18 Taylor LaMont of Utah Valley 8-3.

Cox would take third place at 125 when he pinned teammate Zurich Storm in the third place bout.

At both 133 and 149 pounds, a pair of NC State wrestlers advanced to the finals. At 133, it was Jamel Morris with a 10-5 win over teammate Tariq Wilson in the finals, while at 149, #20 Jamal Morris came away with a 3-2 win over Beau Donahue.

Nick Reenan clamied top honors at 184 pounds with a perfect 5-0 day and a 10-5 win in the finals, while Michale Boykin won the the 285-pound weight class going 4-0 and winning 7-4 in the finals.

Up Next: The Wolfpack will next host Old Dominion on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum.
