
Pack Wraps Up Arena Pro Swim Series On High Note

Ipsen wins 1500 free, Moore places second in 800 free
AUSTIN, Texas - The NC State swimming and diving team concluded its impressive showing on Sunday evening at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin, Texas, with four more podium finishes, giving the squad a total of 13 over the three-day meet inside UT's Texas Swim Center.
Distance standout Anton Ipsen capped off a strong weekend with a win in the 1500m freestyle with a time of 15:13.45 - his second gold medal and third top-two finish of the weekend. Adam Linker placed third in the event in 15:30.14 for his second bronze medal of the meet, and Jack McIntyre finished eighth after stopping the clock at 15:47.85.
Hannah Moore wrapped up her showing in Austin with a silver medal in the 800m free with a final time of 8:32.82 for her third top-five finish of the weekend. Soren Dahl finished fourth in the men's 200 IM after stopping the clock at 2:02.34 for his third top-five placement.
In the 200m butterfly James Bretscher and Lydia Jones finished seventh in their respective events, as Brestcher touched the wall at 2:04.64 and Jones posted a time of 2:16.14. Danny Erlenmeyer finished behind Bretscher in the men's event with a mark of 2:05.77.
NC State had strong performances in the women's 100m backstroke, as Elise Haan, Mackenzie Glover and Alexia Zevnik finished fourth, fifth and sixth with times of 1:01.91, 1:02.13 and 1:02.50, in respective order. Zevnik also advanced to the A final of the 200 IM as she finished eighth in 2:17.83.
In the men's 100m back Hennessey Stuart placed third with a time of 55.82, his second top-three finish of the meet. Coleman Stewart additionally earned a top-eight finish as he took seventh overall in 56.69.
In the 200m breaststroke Kayla Brumbaum finished fourth in the women's event in 1:08.72, while Zack Warner took eighth in the men's event with a mark of 1:03.58.
The team will return to action when it heads to UNC-Wilmington Jan. 21 for a tri-meet with the Seahawks and Gardner-Webb. The meet is set for an 11 a.m. start inside the Seahawk Natatorium.
