No. 32 NC State Rolls Past Saturday Opponents

RALEIGH, N.C. - The 32^nd-ranked NC State men's tennis team rolled past Gardner Webb and Troy on Saturday at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The Wolfpack defeated Gardner Webb 4-0 and Troy 4-1 to improve to 9-2 on the season and 8-0 at home.

The Pack made quick work of Gardner Webb, winning, 4-0. The team clinched its fourth-straight doubles point and fifth win in a row.

NC State split its doubles teams and debuted new lineups. Simon Norenius and Ivan Saveljic won their match 6-2, and Igor Saveljic and Chris Mikrovas won, 6-1 on court one to clinch the point.

In singles, Ivan earned the team's second point with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Yaroslav Prostakov. Thomas Weigel followed with the team's third point and 74^th-ranked Simon Norenius clinched the match with a win on court two.

Notes:
The Pack responded well without captain No. 53 Nick Horton in the lineup.

In addition to wins from the seniors, Ivan Saveljic added a win.

Weigel played his first match of the season at the No. 1 singles spot.

Norenius won his fourth straight match.

NC State won its second match of the day in a 4-1 victory over Troy. Despite Troy's overall record, the team tested the Pack and won a singles match.

The Pack got off to another strong start, winning doubles matches on all three courts.

Weigel earned the most dominant win of the season so far, defeating his opponent, 6-0, 6-0. Horton earned his eighth win of the season with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, while No. 74 Norenius clinched the match with a tough 7-5, 6-4 win at the third spot in the lineup.

Notes:
Igor and Ivan got back on track with a doubles win at the third spot.

Shoti Meparidze also got in on the doubles action, teaming up with Nick Horton for his second doubles duel season win of the year.

No. 53 Horton returned to the lineup and the captains clinched the match for the third time in four matches.

The team improved its perfect home-match winning streak to eight and has only allowed its last five opponents seven match points.
