Wolfpack Crushes Panthers, 89-48

RALEIGH – Led by three players in double figures and a 50 percent shooting effort from the field, the NC State women's basketball team (2-0) crushed visiting High Point (1-1) Sunday afternoon by a final score of 89-48.
The win marked the Wolfpack's sixth straight 2-0 start to a season and keeps NC State spotless (6-0) in the series against High Point. It was NC State's largest margin of victory (41 points) since a 76-30 win over Presbyterian on Dec. 15, 2012, and marked the fifth time in head coach Wes Moore's career at NC State when his team held an opponent below 50 points.
NC State was led in scoring by 14 points from junior guard Miah Spencer, who was joined in double figures by Jennifer Mathurin (13) and Chelsea Nelson (12 – career high). The Wolfpack forced 26 turnovers, scored 30 points off the Panther miscues, and shot 35-70 (.500) from the field in the victory.
