Men's Tennis Continues Play at ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. – The NC State men's tennis team continued play throughout the day Tuesday in the qualifying rounds of singles and doubles at the 2014 ITA All-American Championships
Singles Notables
- Nick Horton, Robbie Mudge and Thomas Weigel each was defeated in a decisive third set to nationally-ranked opponents.
- Weigel dropped his match to No. 91 Francisco Dias in a third-set tiebreak, as the match snapped a six match win streak for the German native and advancing from the prequalifying stage.
- Meanwhile, Horton had his five-match win streak snapped, as he was edged by Bruno Semenzato of Duke, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-0, as he advanced from the prequalifying stage.
Doubles Notables
- The duo of Weigel and Horton opened doubles qualifying with a victory over San Diego's Marco Babic and Thorston Bertsc, 6-4, 6-4, before falling to the tandem of Cole Fiegell and Nathan Rackitt of Georgia Tech.

The Wolfpack will continue play at the ITA All-American Championships, as the main singles and doubles draw are set to get underway Thursday. Austin Powell will play in the singles draw, while the ninth-ranked pair of Mudge and Ian Dempster will participate in the doubles main draw.
