TULSA, Okla. – The dynamic duo of Ian Dempster and Robbie Mudge of the NC State men’s tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the doubles consolation draw before falling to Illinois’ second-ranked pair of Tim Kopinski and Gregory Bayane on Saturday at the ITA All-American Championships at the Case Tennis Center.
Notables
- The ninth-ranked pair of Dempster and Mudge advanced to the semifinals of the consolation doubles draw after winning a third-set tiebreak against California’s Chase Melton and Gregory Bayane, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (9).
- In the consolation semifinals, Dempster and Mudge fell in a third-set tiebreak to top-seeded Kopinski and Guignon of Illinois. Kopinski and Guignon are listed as the No. 2 pair in the preseason ITA poll.
