Holloway’s Breakdown
On today’s performance
“Hats off to our men and women to come back from Atlanta with some victories for NC State against a couple of strong programs in Florida State and Georgia Tech,” said head coach Braden Holloway. “It wasn’t the best overall performance, but sometimes these competitions are about the grind. We were down a few people due to sickness, but we had some new people for step up.”
On the women’s performance
“It was great to see a couple of great wins for the ladies. It’s been a long time for us to come away with a victory against Florida State. It was a good three-way battle.
“We had a couple of big swims from Ashlyn Koletic and Alexia Zevnik. I think it says a lot for our ladies performance in the 1000 and the 500 free. Those were key events for us. For Rachel Muller, Kristin Connors and Kendall Pena to step up and go one-two-three in the 1000 set us up for a big day.”
On performance of Kayla Brumbaum
“Kayla Brumbaum was really good for us today in the breaststroke events. She had a big win for us in the 100 and she is becoming more reliable for us in those events.”
