Mudge, Dempster Punch Ticket to Doubles Final at ITA Regional

CARY, N.C. – The tandem of Robbie Mudge and Ian Dempster of the NC State men’s tennis team advanced to the doubles final at the 2014 USTA/ITA Championships with two victories on Sunday at Cary Tennis Park.
Notables
- The ninth-ranked tandem of Mudge and Dempster defeated South Carolina’s duo of Andrew Adams and Kyle Koch in the quarterfinal, 8-4.
- In the semifinals, Mudge and Dempster outlasted Duke’s Nicolas Alvarez and Raphael Hemmeler, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (2).

Mudge and Dempster will face Clemson’s pair of Alejandro Augosto and Hunter Harrington in the doubles final to be played at 11 a.m., Monday at Cary Tennis Park. The winner of the match will earn an automatic bid into the prestigious USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships.
